Residents of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, are witnessing an increase in gang violence, prompting residents to fight back with vigilante justice.
As a result, over a dozen suspected gang members were reportedly apprehended, executed, and set on fire.
According to AP News, residents of Haiti’s capital city recently beat, killed, and burned a number of suspected gang members. The mob specifically took the suspected criminals from police custody in order to bring them to justice.
Video footage shows civilians banding together and taking a firm stance against the gang members, who have been linked to numerous police killings in Haiti.
Additional video shows the suspected gang members being beaten and grouped together before being set on fire. Thirteen bodies were seen burning in the street, according to an AP News journalist on the scene.
Previously, we reported that Haitian President Jovenel Mose was assassinated at his home in Port-au-Prince on July 7, 2021. Martine Mose, his wife, was wounded by gunshots during the attack, but she survived.
