Natural black hair has unique features that can prevent some care and styling challenges. Natural black hair can also be referred to as Afro-textured hair that has not been altered by heat styling or chemical processes such as relaxing.

African hair are prone to dryness and tangling, due to it’s curly nature. It is always difficult to take care of this type of hair especially if you’re DIY in a wrong way. However, you may need to learn and apply a different technique, from what you’ve been doing. We will assist in giving you the best routine and approach,  for a softer,  healthier,  silky and amazing black natural hair.

MOISTURIZED HAIR

The number one routine, is to ensure your black hair is moisturized. Do not leave the house, without moisturizing your hair. After washing your hair, section into 4 parts, apply a deep masque conditioner; mainly to the ends of the hair, twist the 4 sectioned parts and leave it for 5 minutes, then properly wash it off. Deep conditioner should be done every 4 weeks. Using it appropriately, will help keep your hair soft & healthy.

The next on the list is a leave-in conditioner. Leave-in, means ‘do not wash off’. This type of conditioner is applied on a wet hair; or if dry, get a spray can, pour in a little amount of water, drop some leave-in conditioner into the spray can, shake properly and spray on the hair. Leave-in conditioner is a moisturizer to the hair and one of the most important hair food that protects the black hair.

STIMULATING HAIR OIL

The stimulating hair oil, is oil and serum that Provides the follicle with essential nutrients that strengthens weak roots, Stimulate mega hair growth, Fight scalp dryness / itchy scalp and Help prevent hair fall. Consistent and continuous use of this product will definitely help you meet your hair goal. Use once to twice weekly. Use on scalp after braids to grease scalp, stimulate growth and prevent shedding. Use on edges before weaves/wigs to protect edges from thinning or receding. You can also use stimulating oil for de-tangling & pre-poo treatment.

TRIMMING THE TIPS

Every woman’s dream is to grow long natural hair, but you must understand that dry tips slow down natural hair growth. Reduce the tips, once in 2months; it is necessary, as it will aid the growth & keep the tips in a perfect condition. The tips of the hair are the most fragile part of the hair (because they get the least amount of natural oils). Leaving your hair loose at all times, can damage the tips. Protect the tips by twisting it, after treatment.

HAIR TOWEL, RUFFLE AND BONNET

For natural black hair, silk material is the best. To protect the natural hair; bonnets, ruffles and even your pillow case must be made of silk. Silk does not absorb oil and as such, it remains the best for the natural hair. Cover your hair at night with silk bonnets, it prevents lose of moisture. Do not use elastic hair bands that can thin out the hair tips. Tshirt material is best used for hair towels.

HEALTHY FOODS

Eating healthy foods, laced with vitamins and minerals; is another way to feed your hair, as eating healthy, is an important care tip to the natural black hair. If you are on a diet, ensure the six classes of food are inherent in your meals; if not, the dream of having a healthy hair, will not come to pass! Fish, avocado, Blueberries, green leafy vegetables, eggs, greek yogurt, pumpkin seeds, are enriched with minerals, vitamins, proteins and fats that ensures your hair follicles are healthy.

HEAT

Avoid heat as much as possible.  The black natural hair, is in constant need of moisture and not dryness; applying heat to the hair, will make the hair dry and breakage sets in. If you must use any form of heat, like the dryer, set it to the minimum heat level and also limit the use. Straightener isn’t for you, avoid it; just because it pulls the hair away from its natural and original look. If you need to straighten your hair, the best form of straightening without heat, is threading. Threading is a hairstyle that straightens the hair. Avoid Dye, as it can also damage the hair, due to its chemical component. If you must dye your hair, look for a product, suitable for natural hair and after the first dyeing process, take at least six months to 1 year break, before applying the second time.

Natural hair is beautiful but gorgeous when you take absolute good care of it; moisturize your hair, apply oil, eat healthy, use good hair products, avoid heat and chemicals, keep the hair neat and most importantly, once you understand that your hair is part of your body and needs adequate care, just like you do to other parts of the body, then you’ve won the race!
