Harlem star, Meagan Good and her husband of nine years, Devon Franklin, are filing for divorce. Megan, 40, met her husband in 2011 as she was working on the famous Jumping the Broom film. The two started going out the same year and officiated things in June 2012 through a wedding.
Since their marriage the two have always publicly shown affection to each other. Just six months ago Meagan and her husband filled the Internet with affection messages of each other as they celebrated their ninth year marriage anniversary. On her part Megan wrote, “To the love of my life, my husband, purpose partner, happy anniversary. This makes #9 and eternity you go! You are the best decision I’ve ever made (besides loving Jesus lol). I love you with everything inside me. In this life and in the next.”
DeVon on his part wrote the lyrics of the song, Tony! Toni! Toni! And concluded with an, “ I love you my love note. Months later the two love birds have publicly come out and declared that they will be going their separate ways.
Confirming the news in a joint statement to the PEOPLE, the couple noted, “After much prayer and consideration we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected. We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love. We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife. We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other.”
