Black Panther since its release has always been in the news for one record breaking feat or the other. The movie is at it again and this time it is the first superhero movie to be nominated for Best Picture in the Golden Globes Awards.

Several stars announced this after the nomination list for the 76th edition of the Golden Globe Awards was released on Thursday. The award ceremony is billed to hold sometime in January in California. The movie which hit the mark as the highest grossing superhero movie after it raked in over $1.3 billion worldwide has also gotten several other nominations at different awards.

The only other superhero movie to be nominated for best picture at the Golden Globes is Deadpool which received the nod in 2016. It was nominated for several categories and the star act, Ryan Reynolds did same as well. It is evident that Marvel’s decision to seek the services of Cynthia Swartz the Oscar Strategist, has paid off.


Fans of Black Panther all over the world are extremely excited about the nomination, especially as the cultural impact of the movie has been a major source of recognition. Now that the nomination hurdle is crossed, we look forward to the awards and hope fans of the movie get to see their favorite movie take it home.
