Our eyes locked in an intense stare for two seconds that eerily felt like an eternity. Obinna cleared his throat and apologized for almost “bruising my tender skin” as he put it.

We spent the next few hours cleaning in silence. I microwaved the take out from my dinner with Bisi and we ate. The food tasted a bit different or maybe because I was tired and sleepy and I had a serious craving for Tuna.

By the time Obinna and I were both done cleaning, eating and arranging it was already late evening. He bade me farewell and left to his apartment.

Thereafter, I dragged myself to the bathroom, soaked myself in a bath and dozed off.

Ola was kneeling at the mall, The Circle Mall in lekki. He kept calling out my name in tears and pleading with me to forgive him. I ran as fast as I could and landed in Bash’s arms. I found my self on our bed, the bed I thought would be our matrimonial bed. Bash kissed me and made love to me.

Circle mall lekki-lagos, Nigeria.

I became pregnant and Obinna stood right at the edge of the hospital bed waiting for me to give birth. My mother kept yelling at me. Asking me why I decided to bring shame to the family.

She cried and asked me why I chose to have twin children out of wedlock. Then I stood up and walked to the beach. I saw Umma walking towards the ocean. I ran after her telling her to pay me back my money. I chased after her until the babies fell out of my stomach. I didn’t care. I ran deep into the ocean to catch Umma.

The cold ocean waters soon turned to my bath tub and I was jolted awake.

Another weird dream. I could not make out if it was a dream or a nightmare. I gently rubbed my belly to be sure I was not pregnant.

My heart skipped, I ran out of the bath tub to my monthly calendar that hung right beside my bed, grabbed my boobs that suddenly felt tender as bath water trickled down from my wet body.

The pregnancy saga…

A sharp pain spread from my lower abdomen to my throat. I blinked my eyes to be sure it was still not a nightmare, I just realised that i had missed my period by two weeks!

I panicked terribly as tears welled up my eyes, I rushed to the bathroom and emptied my bowels through my throat, I threw up so hard that I felt my intestines moving through my throat. I lay on the cold bathroom floor and decided to recollect all my sexcapades with Ola.

At this point, i thought hard and calculated my last fertile period, googled early pregnancy symptoms, Google search revealed, Tender breasts, Nausea, Slight lower abdominal pain, metallic taste in mouth, Tiredness, Constant sleep, cravings and sore nipples. I sat still as I recalled my weird Tuna craving, the change in taste of the food i ate, my tiredness and sleepiness.
The Sweet pain on my nipples, my sudden headache and a host of other symptoms that google already listed out as pregnancy symptoms. At this point, I burst into tears.

Picked up the phone to call Ola. I hung up before it connected, and thought about calling Bisi, but I changed my mind.

I hurriedly dressed up and went to the pharmacy close to my apartment. For some weird reason, the really close pharmacy seemed a kilometer farther, I tried to run but my heavy breasts weighed me down.

By the time I got to the pharmacy, I was panting and already tired. Pregnancy was stamped all over my body system. i bought three pregnancy test kits. Just as I was tucking them into my bag, Obinna crept up behind me with a cheeky smile. If he saw the kits or not, I could not say. I brushed past him half ignoring him and ran to my apartment with my breasts held up by my hands. I felt his bewilderment.I could not stop panicking as I forced myself to urinate so I can check my pregnancy status.

Five minutes later, the result stared me in the face…
