The young tech guru was born to Ghanaian parents in California. According to him, one of the most harrowing events of his life happened when he was eight. His father took him on a journey to Ghana and a few days after their arrival, he seized his son’s passport and left him in Ghana. Sandu said it took him nine months to get back to the US through the help of an NGO.

Luckily for Sandu, he got to the US at the time the first iPhone hit the markets, how timely. He said the phone was a great inspiration to him. He saw the invention as the future as people didn’t need to work for a tech company to create apps. Being just ten-years-old at the time, the young Sandu self-taught himself programming for the next two years.

By age 13 he was spotted by one of Google’s designers who gave him an opportunity to intern and work on several projects at Google’s Headquarters. He tried his programming skills on Google Plus, Google Blogger, and several other programs.

This was just a motivation to do more for the young tech guru, at age 15 he had come up with a software for his school. His new app helped students in the school navigate classrooms by dishing out turn-by-turn directions. This quickly built him some popularity which reached the White House since his school was the first in the city with an app built by a student.

This was when Iddris wrote a program which he sold to Instagram. He was just 18-years-old when he started consulting for Snapchat before moving over to Uber. At Uber, he came up with the Autonomous Collision Detection Interface software which was a major breakthrough for its self-driving cars. Sandu has worked on ensuring that young kids get to study STEM subjects in school.

In 2017, he met Nipsey Hussle, a rapper, at Starbucks and together they set up the Marathon Clothing Store on an abandoned storefront in L.A. they achieved this feat in just three weeks. According to the New York Times, customers can get music and other exclusive content at the store as long as they have the app downloaded.

Iddris Sandu has also partnered with several other brands and top artists including Jaden Smith and Kanye West. They are set to open new businesses covering disaster relief projects and clothing lines in 2019. The young tech guru has an aim of ensuring that young Americans are empowered and as such is one of the leaders of the future.

  1. With havin so much written content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My website has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either authored myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any ways to help stop content from being stolen? I’d really appreciate it.|
