The American rapper, Kendrick Lamar, visited Ghana before the release of his album, ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.’

According to reports, Kendrick Lamar is in the country to film a documentary series and plan a private album listening.

A photo and video of Kendrick Lamar eating at Accra’s Kōzo Restaurant are currently circulating on the internet, which shows that he is indeed in town.

Lamar tweeted a new link to his Oklama website in April; where he announced the release date for his now widely played album: Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers which was put out on May 13th.

Lamar teased the album—his “final TDE album,” as he put it—on his website which went live in August 2021. “May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators.” “As I continue to pursue my life’s calling,” he wrote at the time.

“There is beauty in completion.” And always faith in the unknown.” “Oklama,” he signed the note.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is the follow-up to Lamar’s 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winning album Damn.

He’s since curated and directed the Black Panther soundtrack, headlined Coachella; and Top Dawg Entertainment’s Championship Tour, won a number of Grammys, and been nominated for an Oscar.
