The London premiere of 2019 Disney live animation of Lion King has been on the headlines since last week. Pictures uploaded after the event showed the Kenya Logo on the banner – Kenyans couldn’t help but notice. The logo reflected on almost every photo from the event.

A number of Kenyan social media users had nothing but praise for the Magical Kenya team for the part played in sponsoring the premiere. Kenya is not just on the banner anymore – Kenya has been a global trend since the Lion King premiere.

According to the National Geographic, the much-awaited movie was inspired by the Hell’s Gate National Park in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya. The scene which is known for its incredible sights, wildlife, rock climbing and cycling is the home of the actual “Pride Rock” in the movie.

Royalty, global and industry-acclaimed figures graced the show. In Attendance were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, billionaire music power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce, who arrived with their daughter Blue Ivy. Legendary singer Sir Elton John, Pharell Williams, actor Seth Rogen and Donald Glover all made it to the show.

Jon Frvreau’s animation of the classic stars the voices of Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner, John Kani, John Oliver and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.

Beyoncé starred the voice of Nala; Donald Glover, the voice of Simba; Chiwetel Ejiofor, the voice of Scar; Seth Rogen, the voice of Pumbaa; JD McCrary, the voice of young Simba; Florence Kasumba, the voice of Shenzi; Shahadi Wright Joseph, the voice of young Nala; comedian Billy Eichner, the voice of Timon, as well as James Earl Jones re-enacting his original role as Mufasa.
