Actor and comedian Martin Lawrence recently addressed concerns about his health during an interview on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning. The rumors began circulating after fans noticed Lawrence appeared to slur his words in a video interview and seemed unsteady while holding onto Will Smith at the premiere of Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

Host Ebro Darden brought up these concerns during their chat, referencing fans’ worries about Lawrence’s appearance at the premiere. Darden asked, “Now Martin, everybody’s talking [about] you on the balcony waving at people, [you’re] looking around, where you’re looking around? Were you looking around like, ‘Yo, this is massive?’ Because people took it like there was something wrong with your health”.

Lawrence explained that his reactions were simply due to the overwhelming crowd size at the premiere. “I was like, oh, this is rock concert stuff. What the hell is going on? I was like, for a movie?” he responded, clarifying that his behavior was not health-related but rather a reaction to the enthusiastic crowd .

When prompted to address the health concerns directly, Lawrence reassured fans, saying, “I’m fine. I’m in God’s hands. I’m blessed, you know? I’m glad to be waking up every day. I’m all good. No need for people to be concerned.” He emphatically added, “I’m healthy as hell. Stop the rumors!”  .

The concern for Lawrence’s health may have stemmed from a previous incident in 1999 when he collapsed from severe heat exhaustion and was hospitalized in a coma for three days. This past event has made fans more vigilant about his well-being.
