Even Google somehow confuses “Murses” with “Nurses” and it’s not like it’s not on its database. Just not the in thing at the moment; the purse-or-handbag-for-men is hitting the runway in style.
Murse is the biggest trend to appear on the latest men’s spring 2020 catwalk. Male fashionistas or hipster guys can now feel relaxed with these new accessories. The fluid murse featured, covers a range of fanny packs, cross-body satchels, top handle totes, and cover clutches.
Top designers, like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Celine, and Jacquemus donned the runway models. Models displayed oversize variants of accented leathered Birkin bags of the French Fashion House. Dior added a dash of feminine charm to tailored suits and stylized separates with newsprints saddle bags, cross-body satchels with croc-emboss and box-shaped grabs.
Louis Vuitton literally slapped on models with flower-bedecked carry-on with a large blue pack with an easy-to-wear handle that carried the label’s classic brand.
Men’s murse fashion is now in full swing with male celebrities already making it a dress style. Although these murses are usually smaller and made of leather canvas, they are carried like a lady’s purse.
Seal, Kanye West, Wyclef Jean, rapper Lil Wayne and actor Terrace Howard are among the growing list of those seen with a murse at one time or the other. Recently, rapper A$ap Rocky was seen rocking a zen bag with a Loewe ying yang fringe satchel while attending the show in Paris.
We should expect more fashion brands and designers’ to lend their hand to the “murse” trend. It doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon – men also need a carry-on, with or without the handle.
