Rihanna was immortalized at the 2022 Met Gala even though she did not attend.
Vogue paid tribute to the singer with a jaw-dropping digital Rihanna statue that was virtually installed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The statue replicated her recent Vogue cover pose as well as the form-fitting Alaïa bodysuit she wore to highlight her baby bump.
In the museum’s Greco-Roman galleries, the statue was digitally displayed against a backdrop of other marble figures.

The 34-year-old Grammy winner graced the cover of the May issue of Vogue magazine, explaining why she planned to keep her trendsetting style throughout her pregnancy.
With her unforgettable looks, she hopes to empower other expecting mothers, as she put it. “I’m hoping that we were able to redefine what’s considered ‘decent’ for pregnant women,” she told the publication. “My body is doing incredible things right now, and I’m not going to be ashamed of that. This time should feel celebratory.”
