Tonya Sloans, who spent 20 years as a legal advisor in Washington, DC, has used her fashion formula for success to launch an online boutique, Power and Pearls, that gives women confidence through pearl accessories.
Her products inspire women to wear pearls on a daily basis to look powerful and look beautiful.
Tonya Sloans, like so many other accomplished women, adopted Pearl accessories as the iconic fashion accessory she could wear, not only to look her best but to remind her of her power to achieve her career goals. She adopted wearing them after realizing that pearls were always a part of her look on every important occasion.
However, Tonya did not start this fashion trend. It is a historic and timeless jewel that symbolizes women’s high value, worth, and power. The universal issue was simply that women had nowhere to go for modern Pearl accessories.

Finding pearls in a random shop, thrift store, or occasionally in a department store was a woman’s only chance to get a pearl accessory or two.
However, Tonya Sloans, who holds a business administration degree from Xavier University of Louisiana, filled a void in the fashion market by creating an online pearl accessories boutique to make fashion Pearls available to women everywhere with the click of a button.
“Not only do women need pearl accessories to look good, but they also need pearls as a constant reminder of their power to prosper,” Tonya says.
Tonya needed this boost of motivation to continue her career after battling ovarian cancer twice.
“Health hardships have an overwhelming power to knock a woman off her path towards career accomplishments. But there has to be something that brings you back from it and propels you forward.” She continued.
Tonya Sloans, who graduated from Howard University School of Divinity, as well as the University of Wisconsin and Georgetown University Law Schools, had a strong faith in God’s healing power and a polished, poised, pearl appearance to help propel her.
Tonya, cancer-free and determined, landed on Capitol Hill as an ethics attorney advising national leaders. Tonya Sloans experienced a transformation, and as a result, she founded ‘Power & Pearls’ to assist other women in reaching their full potential.
Tonya’s online boutique enables her to send pearls across the country to support the work of career empowerment that she is passionate about.
