Without doubt the Heineken Lagos Fashion week has become he most celebrated fashion phenomenon on the African continent. The fashion week attracts the “who-is-who” in the fashion industry as well as influencers and high profile celebs from all over Africa and the world at large. The Press are not left out as well.
This year’s Fashion Week was glamorous as several amazing designs from top notch designers were on display. It was indeed 3 days of amazing, mind-blowing fashion. The 2018 edition of the Heineken Lagos Fashion week was only the second and it held from the 23rd to the 25th of October.
The designers thrilled the audience to beautiful collections which have shown that the future of African fashion is indeed bright. Everything was on point, from the bold silhouettes to the top class designs and the textures of the clothing. It is usual to have a show before the collection at any world class fashion show and this was not different.
Guests at the event lived up to expectation as they were all looking amazing in their street themed bold, edgy and daring outfits. There were new designers as well as those returning. Some of the returnees include Mai Atafo, Deola Sagoe (who just returned from a fashion week break), CLAN, Eki Orleans, Grey, etc. Designers from other parts of the continent include Tongoro, Anyango Mpinga, Rich Mnisi, and Maxhosa by Laduma (who is a fan favorite).
The style that rocked the Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2018 was obviously the “Street Style” and boy did both the attendees and designers do justice. Fashion enthusiasts all over the continent are definitely looking forward to the next edition of the Heineken Fashion Week.
