A Tulsa, Oklahoma medical facility received 3 children in their emergency unit after a police officer reportedly shot at a robbery suspect driving a pickup truck.

The authorities refused to immediately reveal the ages and current conditions of the children. Their mothers, Olivia Hill, while speaking to Texas based station, KXII-TV, said three of her children were injured but the youngest was left unscathed.

KXII-TV reports “My 4-year-old daughter was shot in the head, and she has a bullet in her brain, and my 5-year-old has a skull fracture,” Hill said. “My 1-year-old baby has gunshot wounds on her face. My 2-year-old wasn’t touched with any bullets.”

Reports reveal that the children and their mother were in the truck with the 21-year old suspect, William Devaughn Smith, who is a prime suspect in a pizza that robbery report earlier in April. It is unclear how both adults are related but Smith was taken into custody after treatment of his gunshots wounds.

The Oklahoma state Bureau of investigations said they are still investigating into why the officer fired the truck. They want to decipher if he shot at the police first or if he was armed at all. The police have also said they were not certain that the officers were aware of the presence of the children in the vehicle before shooting.
