A new series titled “Intercepted” by Starz is hitting our screens soon and working together on this are Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson and La La Anthony. Both stars worked together on the set of Power.
Anthony will be producing the project and starring on it as well. Interception is based on a novel of the same name by Alexa Martin. The book was the first of three series titled “The Playbook.” Alexa was inspired to write them from being an NFL wife for eight years.
This is the breakdown of the plot as written by Deadline.
“Described as a funny and fresh contemporary romance, Intercepted centers on Marlee Harper (Anthony), who is the perfect girlfriend. She’s sure had enough practice, dating her NFL-star boyfriend for the last 10 years. But when her relationship unexpectedly ends, she vows to never date an athlete again. Only one problem: Gavin Pope, the new star quarterback in town, has Marlee in his sights.”
La La Anthony will be able to relate to this role well since she is also married to an NBA player. 50 Cent signed a deal with Starz last year for four years worth $150 million. The rapper and actor said “When I sat down with [Starz CEO Chris Albrecht] and walked him through my plans for G-Unit Film & Television going forward, he let me know I was essentially requesting the biggest deal in premium cable history. We will continue our proven track record of breaking records and delivering unique content for audiences around the world. Get the strap.”
50’s G-Unit is also developing two other series for Starz, “Vanguard” and “Black Mafia Family.”
