Earlier this week we had brought you a report that Travis Scott will be performing alongside Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl in February. Yes, the same Super Bowl that several other artistes have chosen to boycott. Al Sharpton is clearly unhappy with the rapper and has joined several others in criticizing the move.

He aired his view while speaking to TMZ saying Scott’s acceptance will mean his undermining of efforts by others fighting against the actions of the NFL. He said it will mean the rapper was endorsing the unfair treatment offered Colin Kaepernick by the NFL. Sharpton advised La Flame to consider the action wisely and boycott the halftime show like many others have done.

Rihanna and Cardi B are among the famous acts to turn down performing at the event. The civil rights activist further stated that it was impossible to applaud people taking a stand for athletes kneeling during the anthem and then perform at the show because no one wants to do so. In essence, you cannot eat your cake and have it.

Other artistes have also spoken out against the decision. Jay-Z had expressed his displeasure over the weekend and now Meek Mill has joined in. Travis Scott is yet to issue a statement concerning performing at the Super Bowl taking place on February 3, 2019.
