The met gala which took place on Monday the 2nd of May, was met with the glitz and glam of the high and mighty of the entertainment industry.
The theme for the met gala 2022 was “Gilded Glamour” and trust our fashion stars to bring the dazzle the red carpet. Their rich fashion sense took from the theme, to showcase the New York’s gilded age leaving plenty room for imagination and rich inspiration.
The met gala is not called “the fashion’s biggest night out” for nothing, as we saw the our favorites black celebrities rock the red carpet at the met gala 2022 and thought to share some of their looks and what we think about them.
Janelle Monae
The singer in her Ralph Lauren custom made dress definitely looked good and took the event to another height. We loved her dress.
Leslie Odom Jr.
The star all dressed in his Fendi attire looked every part the flower boy this attire was meant to create. We also loved this look by the Hamilton star to the event 2022.
Venus Williams
The tennis star came to met gala in this all black monochromtic suit. She definitely looked simple and chic.
Cynthia Erivo
Dressed in a Louis Vuitton piece, star actress Cynthia Eviro came to the event 2022 looking absolutely regal. We love white and she does too.
Jon Batiste
The grammy winner looked all dashing at the met gala 2022 red carpet in his Ralph Lauren tux. He looked all simple but handsome.
Laura Harrier
We definitely got princess and cinderella vibes on the red carpet of the event 2022. Laura harrier looked all part a real life princess and that v-shaped bodice was just the needed spice to the lovely gown.
Anderson Paak
If funny was a person, it would be Anderson Paak. This look was all shades of comical, definitely brought life to the red carpet.
Alicia Keys
The black American singer looked so regal in her Ralph Lauren dress with a coordinating cape that paid homage to New York city. She was definitely our favorite look to the event.

Lori Harvey looked every part the princess in this lovely black dress . Her gown went in full affirmation with the glided theme leaving little to imagination, and giving full inspiration. We definitely loved the vibe this gown gave.

The Bridgerton star, and the ladies favorite Duke of Hastings act also dazzled the red carpet with his simple yet elegant appearance at the met gala event.
While we loved the glitz of the red carpet, these black stars really made us proud at the event. We look forward to the next year event.

Cardi B appeared to be all that glitters on the red carpet of the 2022 Met Gala, wearing a Versace custom creation.
The award-winning rapper walked alongside Versace’s creative director, Donatella Versace, in an embellished, formfitting gold gown.
The ensemble included a halter dress made of embroidered jewelry and metal mesh, as well as matching gold embroidery on the layered necklaces and bracelets in the brand’s signature gold chain.
