Macy’s controversial holiday Ad stares up debate on social media.

The Internet is staring up with debates again as Macy’s holiday ad shoot spreads across social media. The photo which shows four sets of families, revealed  2 perfectly portrayed white family having some holiday fun in their Macys holiday pajamas, one gay family made up of 1 black dad, 1 white dad,  labeled ‘papa bear’  with their 2 interracial sons, and the fourth family happen to be a single black mom with 3 sons.

While most people are outraged, social media fans have gone into a debate as to why Macys decided to use that photo as its major ad shoot, some are furious and others are just asking the question ‘why’? This is because of the fact that many believed the portrayal of the black woman and the black man is totally wrong and should not be tolerated, some believed that the representation of the black male as ‘gay’ is the  genocide of the masculine melanin man and the black woman as ‘single mom’ is the destruction of the black family, many questioned the corporate for allowing such image to be released, while others believed that it’s just an ad that represents the different families in the American society.

The ad which sends the message of a gay family, adoption, single family, and perfectly married family is receiving so much backlash from people who seem to not agree with the absence of a black father in the black family.

sources confirmed to My Beautiful Black Ancestry that there are more images from the holiday shoot which has a complete black family but they wonder why this controversial ad image is what Macys have chosen to front as their major holiday ad.

A source quoted “To insinuate that the black family doesn’t show emotions for each other and the black man is incapable of raising a family is blasphemous and downright distasteful,  and is seen as the nation’s assault on black men through subconscious warfare”. So far Macys hasn’t responded in anyway to either claim responsibility for the ad or debunk the claims of those who view the ad as a ‘Racist Ad” and another attempt by companies to paint a negative image of the Black community.

We want to believe that is some kind of misconception, so we will keep our hands crossed for now, but still, we’d love to know what you think of this. is this another social media misunderstanding or another bad depiction of the black community?
