One of the most anticipated Fashion shows in Nigeria and indeed Africa was recently held by Maybelline New York in Lagos. It is the Lagos Fashion Week 2018. The 4-day-long event was sponsored by Heineken and Maybelline New York as usual was in charge of makeup for all the models on display.
Several amazing designs by world class designers were on display on the runway. Some of the designers include Mai Atafo, Clan, Deola Sagoe, Ugo Monye, Meena, Sisiano, and many others. Models were glamed up Maybelline New York Nigeria led by artistic director, Bimpe Onakoya.
Bimpe did an amazing job leaving the models looking stunning accentuating the job of the designers. From natural makeup to wing liner and a classy red lip combo, in a few words, it was breath taking.
The night of the Maybelline Show saw Bimpe Onakoya bring her best to the table transforming the star studded models like Adunni Ade and Bolanle Olukanni. It was simply artsy makeup at its best. Other celebs that graced the runway that night include Kokobykhloe and BamBam.
The highlight of the show was the opportunity granted to young upcoming makeup artists to work with Maybelline’s artistic director. There was also a contest organized by Maybelline #RootedwithMaybelline. The winner of the contest, Louella Akaka Ese was gifted with a cash price of a hundred thousand naira, a range of Maybelline beauty products and the opportunity to understudy Bimpe for the whole show.
We definitely can’t wait for the 2019 edition of the Lagos Fashion Week.
