For all who have seen “Black Panther,” you can attest to the fact that the movie was really cool. What most of us don’t know is what happened behind the scenes. Michael B. Jordan, who played the villain Kilmonger, was recently on an interview with Oprah. He confessed that he needed the help of a therapist after the movie.

In the movie, he was the son of an outcast Wakandan spy who came back with the aim of taking his place on the throne of the technologically advanced country. He had a plan of toppling the government of the present King of Wakanda, T’Challa. He had an intention of using Wakandan tech to colonize the West and thus liberate black people all over the world.

While speaking to Oprah on Supersoul Conversations he said he needed the therapy sessions. This was because he had been absorbed by the role he played in the high-grossing movie. According to him, he did all he could to ensure that he got into the character just the way he was expected. This entailed spending long periods alone and in the end, he felt trapped by the character.

Jordan recounts the experience of adjusting to normal life as very difficult and the only way he could get out was talking to someone. We are glad to have him back with us, no longer as the supervillain, Kilmonger.
