According to a list released by Forbes ranking of highest-paid soccer players globally, Egypt’s football idol and Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, is the only African soccer star to make it to the list of ten most paid football players in the world for this year.

Mohamed Salah, ranked with total earnings of $37 million, occupies the fifth position in the world position trailing only behind Lionel Messi at the first position, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, respectively.

The high profiled Egyptian player is not only celebrated as a sporting legend in his native country but is also renowned for his charity. His foundation has facilitated providing monthly financial assistance in the form of an allowance to at least 450 members of his home community of Basyoun. In July this year, he donated an ambulance facility to his home village in the Nile Delta.

News reports emanating from gulfnews.com reveals that Sallah personally donated the sum of 15 million US dollars to his Egypt as it faces economic challenges in the battle against the novel coronavirus.
