According to the Afrochella official Website, “Afrochella is a celebration of Africa’s diverse culture and the vibrant work of African creatives and entrepreneurs. Also, The festival is designed to elevate and highlight the thrilling and thriving millennial talent in Africa. By introducing an interactive event that teaches, explains and explores various culture with a pioneering approach.
As a result, *Afrochellans* will experience art and creative activations from the continent; celebrate African music and the taste premium cultured cuisine.
Afrochella was conceptualized 2015 by Abdul Karim Abdullah. Additionally, the pilot event took off in 2017 with the assistance of Kenny Agyapong, Edward Asafu-Adjaye and a team of young talented individuals now known collectively Culture Management Group.
However, this year’s Afrochella event, joined the line up of various other events that happened in Ghana.
Afrochella 2019
Afrochella is a one day event. The theme of this year’s Afrochella, which will took place on December 28 at the El Wak Stadium, is “Diaspora Calling,”. Accordingly, It highlighted the process of various African cultures transcending across borders without losing their heritage, through events like the Afrochella Talks conversation series featuring panels discussions with the likes of artist Adjo Kisser and photographer Amarachi Nwosu. The event was the official closing for Ghana’s Year of Return.
Therefore, there was a mix of diverse African colorful culture on display at the event. Guests at the event, showed up in colorful African fabrics and body Art.
Mouth watering cuisines and beautiful variety of food were featured in the event.
The event was a fine blend of music, Art, food and culture. According to the organizers, Africa is the new sexy. And it was fully showcased at the event.
