Peter Johnson, the amazing creative, worked with the famous labellcompany, Nike and 28 other creators on a sneaker project called “NYC by YOU”. Peter said,
“I was offered the opportunity to create my own version of the now Nike Air Max 200s,”.
PETER JOHNSON
Johnson is a 22 year old entrepreneur born in the city of Lagos in Nigeria. He is currently based in Queens, New York. He is the brain behind the street wear and lifestyle brand, Project 96 (P96) and FulfillYourProject.
According to him, his source of inspiration comes from his culture and his desire to uplift humanity.
His design which is titled, “Balanced Diet”, embodies his awareness of authenticity. In addition, his manner of approach to his dual identity of being Nigerian and American is also defined. The Nigerian designer said,
“Much of my life since moving to America has been an attempt at finding equilibrium between my Nigerian heritage and newly acquired NYC culture… This sneaker is a physical representation of a balanced diet of both of my worlds tied together by the laces of these sneakers.”
Peter’s sneaker style reveals a neon colored set with black shoelaces. The pair is a statement piece and is bound to fire up your overall look.
NIKE AIR MAX 200 X NIKE BY YOU
The Nike Air Max 200 is a lifestyle Air Max silhouette that was first released in July of 2019. Its most outstanding feature is its large heel Air Max bubble, a style that provides 200% more Air cushioning compared to a traditional side-vis unit.
The bulk of the 28 shoes were produced in bright and bold tones. The others featured a brand new wave-print with a touch of Swoosh abstract-style.
The whole concept of the Nike By You initiative is centered on creating the platform to tell personal stories and and highlight individual style perspectives.
Therefore, the Nike team reached out and collaborated with 28 New Yorkers including Peter Johnson. So, each pair reveals a unique tale of the creative involved.
Apart from the Balanced diet, other designs include, Dusty Cactus, Rasta Colorway, Royal Pulse, Desert Sand, Mystic Green, among others.
