Grammy-award winner, Pharrell Williams, is set to launch a music and culture festival in his home city, Virginia Beach. The event which he labels a “cultural experience” is billed to hold from April 26 to 28. He will be performing alongside other A-List artists like Missy Elliott, Migos, Travis Scott, Janelle Monae, Pusha T, Migos, Diplo, Dave Matthews Band, Lil Uzi Vert, and Diplo.

Tickets for the maiden edition of the festival will go on sale from this Friday. According to Pharrell, the festival was a way to give back to the community that built him and helped him achieve his dreams. Pharrell named several people who hail from Virginia and had made a mark on the world saying so many people had made it from the city because Virginians all have the bold, gritty, and unique nature.

Asides the music, Ava Duvernay’s movie, “The Burial of Kojo” will be aired and discussed too. The movie is expected to debut on Netflix on the last day of March. The theme of the festival is “Something in the Water” and it will also feature a pop-up church service, karaoke, moments with Geoffrey Canada and Deepak Chopra.

Robert “Bobby” Dyer, the Mayor of Virginia Beach in a statement said the event will have a transformative effect on the city. He also said the people of the city are elated at receiving Pharrell and his crew.
