Recently we told you about a shooting at a mall in Illinois and that the perpetrators of the act were at large. Well, latest reports tell us that the Police have identified a 19-year old man, Jakharr Williams, as the shooter responsible for the incident. Williams is said to have shot and killed 18-year old Javon Britten and injured another person at the scene of the crime.

The suspect is still at large and is said to have an active parole warrant. Eye witness reports say that Williams shot Britten in the chest, though he was able to stagger a few steps away, he died at the hospital. Britten’s family said that he and his cousin had visited the mall on the day of the incident where they met Williams, an old high school mate. Williams had expressed dislike for Britten and despite efforts from Britten’s cousin, the situation escalated till he was shot in the chest by Williams.

According to Kizer, Britten’s aunt, he was shot 5 times while his cousin, Charles, was shot twice. The latter was able to escape into one of the stores at the mall. The family of the deceased have said they have no record of bad blood between him and the shooter.

The police have issued a warning to the public that Jakharr Williams is armed and dangerous and anyone with useful information about him should report to the Orland Park Police by calling 708-349-4111 or sending an email to crimetips@orlandpark.org.
