Results of a recent poll conducted by “The Athletic” reveal that 95% of the NFL defensive players believe embattled football star, Colin Kaepernick, should be part of an NFL team.

The ex-49er player is on record as the first to go on one knee as the US anthem was being sung before a game. His reason for this was to protest events of racial inequality and police brutality. As a result of this, he has not played in the league for two full seasons.

A total of 85 defensive players took part in the poll and all but four of them believe the player should be back in the NFL. Out of the remaining four, two said no comment, while the other two believe he shouldn’t be on the NFL roster.

When asked which quarterback should be replaced by Kaepernick in the league, two names topped the list. The first, Blake Bortles of Jacksonville Jaguars and second, Nathan Peterman, who used to play for the Buffalo Bills. A few others were mentioned at least once, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Jameis Winston, and New York Giants’ Eli Manning.
