Together, i-D and the esteemed designer, artist, Rihanna unveil a creative project that champions a more progressive and inclusive future.

The publication tapped the multi-hyphenate artist and designer to spearhead its upcoming edition. Which will highlight dozens of notable and leading women across fashion, art, culture, activism and more.

i-D’s Rihannazine is dedicated to people reshaping the culture. Across fashion, music, art, activism and female empowerment. Hence, featuring the Hadid sisters, activist Tarana Brike, rapper Rico Nasty, and many more groundbreaking women.

Rihanna is said to have handpicked all of the 43 individuals spotlighted in the magazine. While famed photographer Mario Sorrenti shot the entire 144-page issue. Featured names include singer Kelela, Me Too founder Tarana Burke, Euphoriastar Alexa Demie, Bella Hadid and Martin Luther King Jr.’s granddaughter, Yolanda Renee King. Among many other notable figures.

“Reaching this milestone deserved something monumental. Something we’ve never done before in our 40-year history,” said Alastair McKimm, Editor-in-Chief of i-D. “And who better to collaborate with on this special edition than the woman who embodies charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent? A woman who is a voice for change, inclusivity, authenticity, diversity and female empowerment.”

“For me, this very special issue of i-D represents change and culture,” Rihanna said. “It is dedicated to some of the people who are progressively reshaping the communities across fashion, music, art, and activism — creating a more inclusive and diverse future.”

McKimm added: “Working with Rihanna we handpicked the people featured in this project for many different reasons; they may all represent different things but what unites them is that everyone featured in these pages is incredibly inspirational. They are artists, writers, activists, musicians and women on the front lines of the fashion industry demanding change.”

The “Rihannazine” will be limited to 5,000 copies and launches globally starting on January 27.
