A documentary series titled “Surviving R. Kelly” aired on Lifetime from Thursday to Saturday last week. The documentary brought to light several issues related to sexual abuse by R. Kelly as victims, family, and a couple of artists made shocking revelations.

Several artists, a couple of whom have worked on projects with the hitmaker, have come forward to denounce him publicly. Neyo, who opened for Kelly’s tour in 2007, said music is very important, the safety of our girls is more important and cannot be put on the line. He posted a picture with the caption #MUTERKELLY.

Tank, who claims to have been inspired greatly by Kelly’s work, said the documentary sickened him to the stomach. He said this in a very lengthy post on social media. Meek Mill admitted after watching the documentary that there was so much terrible stuff going on in the industry and the worst part is that they were hardly spoken of. According to him, he wasn’t feeling R. Kelly.

When PEOPLE magazine requested a response from Kelly’s representatives on the different allegations mounting against the singer, the response they got was “No Comment.”

One of the only artists to speak on the documentary, John Legend, expressed his total disgust about Kelly’s actions. Before the show was aired on Thursday the “All of me” singer had addressed comments about him appearing on the documentary via his Twitter account. The singer went on to say on the documentary that Kelly had brought pain to so many people and time was up for him.

Another artist to openly denounce R. Kelly is “Chance the Rapper” who worked on a song with him in 2015. In a brief statement on the documentary, Chance declared his regret for working Kelly. He went ahead to post his interview online via his Twitter account.
