There was a story of a teenager named Kendrick L. Johnson that trended way back in 2013. Kendrick, a basketball lover, was found dead on January 11, 2013 rolled up in a mat in the gym of his school. He attended Lowndes High School, Valdosta in Georgia, United States.

Two autopsies have been previously carried out on his corpse by private pathological consultants. Each time, the conclusion was that his death was accidental. The report of the first publicized by a local station WALB, accounted his death to “non-accidental blunt force trauma to his right neck and right thorax.” The second autopsy report   revealed an “unexplained … apparent accidental, blunt force trauma” and “positional asphyxia” as the cause of his death.

The only people who seem to have been opposed to initial forensic reports are his parents, Kenneth and Jacquelyn Johnson who believe till date that their son was murdered.  The third and most recent autopsy is suggesting that they may actually be right. There is a possibility that there was some foul play that led to the sudden and mysterious demise of Kendrick Johnson.

His parents filed a suit in 2015 for $100 million for wrongful death and accused their son’s former schoolmates Brian and Branden and their father, Rick Bell who is also a special agent of the FBI. The case was ruled in favor of the defendants in 2016, citing lack of sufficient evidence to prove foul play weighed in on the judge’s judgment. Another judge ruled in 2017 and referred the cause of his death to be negligence by his parents.

The third autopsy has however revealed a new turn to the story. It reports that the cause of the teenager’s death was traumatic force to his right chest and thorax and not accidental as stated in the previous autopsies. It was agreed in June this year that Johnson’s body will be exhumed for the third autopsy as family held on to the fact that their son was murdered.

Kendrick Johnson’s body was recovered from the mortuary with vital body parts missing in 2013. As everyone awaits justice for KJ it is yet to be seen what becomes of the recent autopsy. His parents have been silent on the recent forensic report and so have the local authorities. So much time has passed and justice has not been served, we wonder  if there is still a twist on the way to justice for Kendric L. Johnson.
