Despite his ongoing prison sentence, Tory Lanez is using his time behind bars to focus on self-improvement and education. The Canadian rapper, currently serving a 10-year sentence for the 2022 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, recently revealed that he has obtained his high school diploma and enrolled in college courses while incarcerated.

In an interview with Kick streamer Adin Ross, Lanez opened up about his life in prison, emphasizing that he’s not letting his circumstances bring him down. “I’m great. I know that a lot of people sometimes when they hear prison or they hear somebody’s down, they think n*****’s in the corner somewhere bawling his eyes out,” Lanez said, describing his current mindset.

The 32-year-old artist shared that his time in prison has been marked by a strong commitment to personal growth. Alongside maintaining his physical health, Lanez has prioritized his education, proudly announcing his recent achievements. “A n**** just graduated high school and enrolled in college. Never thought I’d do that. But I’m taking this moment and I’m taking advantage over everything that’s good,” Lanez explained. He continued, “I’m a f***** high school dropout that just graduated high school. That s*** matters to me. So, it’s the small things that just have me feeling good about life right now.”

Lanez’s educational pursuits aren’t the only focus of his time in prison. The rapper recently released his debut music project from behind bars, titled *Prison Tapes*. According to reports, Lanez has found a way to produce studio-quality music from his cell and plans to release new tracks monthly. “It’s over. I’ve cracked the f***** code, man,” he told his fans, expressing excitement about continuing his music career despite his incarceration. “This means that not even these prison walls can stop me from dropping new music. It’s crazy!”

Despite being denied a retrial earlier due to lack of evidence, Lanez remains optimistic about his future. He shared that his faith in God gives him confidence that his time in prison will be short-lived. “I know that my time is coming. I don’t feel like I’m gonna be in here for a long time. I’m very spiritual, very in tune with God,” Lanez stated. “I feel like the conversations that me and God have been having, He’s been letting me know in so many different ways that I’m about to get out of here.”
