Tristan Thompson, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, has been slammed a $15,000 fine by the NBA for showing a group of fans the middle finger during the Cavs 99-97 away win against Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Monday night. The report was updated by Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic on Thursday.
The video of the incident, which happed just after the final buzzer, was uploaded by TMZ Sports.
When speaking with DJ Siddiqi of 247Sports after the game, Thompson went on to say “They better put some respect on my name.” The 27-year old Thompson, who is a native of Toronto, rounded off the game with great stats. He had 19 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. Over 24 appearances this season the Cavs player has raked in an average of 11.8 points and 11.8 boards.
It was recorded by Matthew Florjancic of WKYC that the player is receiving the nineteenth fine of his NBA career, which isn’t such a great record by the way. The Cleveland Cavaliers return to action this Saturday against the Sacramento Kings after they lost at midweek to the Golden State Warriors.
