We recently brought you a report about Travis Scott accepting to perform at the NFL Super Bowl next month. Several other artists have rejected the offer including Rihanna and Cardi B due to the victimization of players who knelt during the anthem. The rapper signed the deal with the NFL on the grounds that $500,000 will be donated to Dream Corps, the social justice organization.
Scott said he made sure that he and NFL partnered on the donation before signing the deal as the Dream Corps is close to his heart and he believes their work will inspire and promote change. It was reported also that the rapper and Colin Kaepernick, who has been out for about two seasons for his decision to kneel during the anthem, had spoken over the phone before signing the deal with the NFL.
Kap did not approve this bullshit! Get the fuck outta here…. https://t.co/yyMVAXQB3k

The report has however been refuted by the ex-49ers quarterback. According to him, he never gave his approval. He even retweeted Ebro Darden’s tweet, one which he had retweeted Variety’s post adding a caption that spoke about Colin not approving the deal. Another person to have refuted the claims is Nessa Dias, Kaepernick’s girlfriend. She said in a tweet that there was neither mutual respect or understanding for anyone going against the ex-NFL star.
There is NO mutual respect and there is NO understanding for anyone working against @Kaepernick7 PERIOD. #stoplying https://t.co/0HB6kcWJRG

TMZ, however, reported that the rapper had reached out to the player before signing the deal but it was of gaining his support rather than seeking his permission. According to the source, the discussion was nothing near hostile, even though Kap didn’t give Scott his support.
Travis Scott will be performing along with Maroon 5 along with Big Boi at the Super Bowl halftime show holding on February 3.
