Sylvester Stallone played a major role to get Jack Johnson posthumous pardon from President Donald Trump. The movie star is not stopping at that. He has set plans in motion to take the legend’s story to the big screen.
Just in case you were wondering who Jack Johnson was, here’s a tip. Johnson was the first African-American heavyweight boxing champion. The champ was however convicted in 1910 for violating the Mann Act. What crime did he commit? He transported a woman across the border for immoral purposes.
Stallone will be working on this project with MGM Motion Pictures and it will be a great way to launch his own Balboa productions. His company is designed to work on the development of movie and TV projects. The Group President and Executive President of MGM will be supervising the project on behalf of their company.
This isn’t the first time Stallone is partnering with MGM. He is currently filming Creed II which is a sequel to Creed. if you cast your mind back to 2015 you should remember Creed. The movie grossed $170 million on the worldwide box office.
Already, Balboa Productions and Starlight Culture Entertainment have signed a multiyear deal to produce feature movies.
