Since Eddie Murphy first announced the sequel to one of his most famous movies “Coming to America,” we all have been on the edge, anxious to know the release date.
Variety reported that the highly anticipated sequel will hit the movie theatres on August 7, 2020. The sequel is directed by Craig Brewer, who is working with a script written by Kenya Barris (creator of Black-ish). The script is a rewrite of the original by Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield, the original writers of the movie.
Details of the sequel’s plot have not been revealed, what we know is that Eddie Murphy is replaying his role as “Prince Akeem.” We are looking forward to seeing Shari Headley, Arsenio Hall, and John Amos all replay their roles from the first “Coming to America.”
Our guess is that you are as excited as we are to experience the “Coming of America” magic once again.
