The Oscars held on Sunday but one of the talking points still lingers, and it is not an award. The tuxedo gown worn by Billy Porter couldn’t be missed, even by a blind man. It was one of the highlights of the show and people on social media cannot stop talking about it.

The full tuxedo jacket worn over a full-skirted velvet gown was designed by Christian Siriano. Porter said wearing the tuxedo gown was just a way of playing on both his masculine and feminine sides while highlighting his queer identity.
Porter while explaining his choice of clothes for the special ceremony said he has always been inspired by fashion. His mother and grandmother were both fashionistas and so it was only natural for him to fall in line. He also said that being gay had not made it any easier for him, especially as he was of black origin. He said being on Pose has given the opportunity to grace several red carpets and he has a goal of being a piece of political art.
Porter went on to say he had always wanted to wear a ball gown and even though he knew he was going to raise so much dust with his tuxedo gown, he didn’t really care.
