It’s that special time of the year and the children of migrants are not left out of the gifts that are characteristic of the Christmas season. Over the weekend some migrants were rescued by Open Arms, a Spanish Charity organization.
A total number of 311 were rescued by the Charity organization and they are being transported to the Spanish port Algeciras. In the spirit of the season a video was released showing the children celebrating Christmas aboard the transporting vessel on Monday. The children received gifts on the vessel as they joined the rest of the world to celebrate Christmas.
The migrants were rescued off the Libyan Coast, even though a couple of countries have refused to let the vessel pass through their territories. Some of the countries that have issued an embargo on the rescue vessel include Malta and Italy.
The charity body is involved in rescuing migrants who have run into trouble while trying to cross to Europe from Libya. The Coast of Libya is famous for being a crossover spot where migrants from the rest of Africa seeking greener pastures in Europe illegally pass through.
