Sources working with the Cuban government last Friday revealed that the 22nd session of Intergovernmental Commission will hold from February 19 to 21. The aim is to discuss the cooperation between Cuba and Algeria and will hold in Algiers.. The Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment clearly explained that the reason for the meeting was to discuss bilateral relations between both countries.
The Minister, Rodrigo Malmierca, said both countries needed the relationship to help grow their biotechnology, health, agriculture, energy, and water resources sectors. The information about the meeting was first leaked on Twitter. It is expected that the talks will yield better cooperation between both countries. By the way, both countries already have a strong working relationship.
The Caribbean and African nations have been in a cordial relationship since the 1970s. They have both worked on improving different sectors of the economy like education, sports, construction, and culture. Currently, there is a strong Cuban presence in Algeria to help in the development of hospitals.
