Martin has been pressing for this project since she was eleven, she shared the first trailer of the movie with her fans a few days back.
In an interview with Essence, Martin said she was very comfortable working on the project with both cast and crew which is made up of the embodiment of #blackgirlmagic by the way. She hopes this will be a trailblazer and an encouragement to other young movie makers of color. The movie is expected to hit the theatres on April 12, 2019.
