It is almost impossible to be a follower of world sports and be ignorant of who Anthony Joshua is. Anyways, just for formality sake, Anthony Joshua is the Nigerian-British heavyweight boxing champion. Joshua was recently invited to Buckingham Palace to be bestowed with one of the most prestigious honors in England.
Anthony Joshua, 29, was recently presented the honorary OBE award by Prince Charles at the Palace. By the way, OBE means Order of the British Empire which places Joshua is a class of very few sportsmen to be awarded such an honor by the British Royal House.
Joshua has had what a lot of people will term an illustrious and fulfilling career as he currently holds three out of the four major titles in world heavyweight boxing. He holds the IBF, WBA (Super), and WBO titles which he picked up in 2016, 2017, and 2018 respectively. Asides this he has also held the IBO and Commonwealth titles as well.
Prior to all of these he had represented England as an amateur boxer, winning silver at the World Boxing Championships. He had also won gold at the 2012 Olympics where he also represented Britain. Ring Magazine named him the Prospect of the Year in 2014 when he turned pro and his fight with Wladimir Klitschko was awarded Match of the year by both the Boxing Writers Association and Ring Magazine.
Definitely, Anthony Joshua has had an enviable career, we wish him more success in the rest of his career.
