Twitter was in frenzy on Saturday as a famous black comedian, Chris Rock, topped the trending list for hours. As much as we would have loved it to be for a good reason, it wasn’t. It was majorly a backlash for what most see as a poor sense of judgment and insensitivity, this is what happened.
A clip recently resurfaced of Chris Rock in a room with other comedians, Jerry Seinfeld, Loius C.K, and Ricky Gervais. They were on set HBO’s Talking funny and ended discussing a sensitive topic, the use of the N-word. Things quickly escalated as C.K and Gervais began using the word with reckless abandon, guess what, Rock joined in without any form of restraint.
A little while later, Chris Rock refers to C.K as the blackest white man he knows. C.K. quickly responds, asking if Rock was referring to him with the N-word. Rock’s answer is affirmative as he calls C.K the n****rest white man he’s ever met.
Though the exchange seemed quite entertaining to Gervais, Seinfeld was having none of that and he quickly vocalized his displeasure at the whole scenario. The whole incident stirred a storm with several seeing Chris Rock as insensitive and Jerry Seinfeld the complete opposite.
We have brought you some tweets showing people’s displeasure.

This literally made my skin crawl. The fact a white man has to be the voice of reason on racial sensitivity, in the same room Chris Rock is in…. Speaks volumes pic.twitter.com/uVgB7Loeq1
