The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has been re-elected into office after the elections which held over the weekend. He has offered an inclusive and has asked his supporters not to gloat the opposition. The president made the statement while receiving the election certificate from the chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).
The President has promised that in his next tenure he will ensure that the economy gets better and security will be improved. It is no longer news that supporters of the incumbent President and the top opposition party have sometimes resorted to violence over election records.
Atiku Abubakar, the main opposition candidate earlier today rejected the election results. He said there was a lot of malpractices during the election which was enough to make the election null and void. He has said he would contest the results in court.
Congratulations H.E. @MBuhari on your re-election for a second term as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Your victory is a clear demonstration of the trust and confidence the people of Nigeria have in your ability to lead the country to greater heights of progress
