On March 30, a young and rising rapper known as BTB Savage was reportedly shot and killed in Houston. The news came just hours after he posted two photos of himself standing near a crime scene where one of his enemies was allegedly gunned down.
He captioned the images of himself standing in front of a bullet-riddled apartment door, “Too much motion.” Splatters of what appears to be blood can also be seen on the floor and walls.
While there has been no official confirmation of his death, BTB Savage has not posted anything on social media since the news of his death broke. Fans are also concerned after Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner revealed that a fatal shooting occurred on the evening of March 30th.
Part of this speculation came from the fact that he recently spoke on killing a man in self-defense during a sit-down with Vlad TV, which aired earlier last week.
During the interview, BTB Savage detailed how, under the guise of trying to get a feature, two men attempted to rob the rapper after being invited into his house in San Antonio.
After inquiring about his chain before leaving, one of the perps pulled a gun on BTB Savage. After a struggle, the rapper’s girlfriend managed to fire off a few shots at the man, though BTB also sustained an elbow injury in the process.
While speaking on the ordeal, BTB Savage declared that the robber’s accomplices “left him for dead” after firing through the door. He also noted that the perp was of a “softer” variety and didn’t manage to hit him once.
Eventually, the alleged robber began to succumb to his injuries and began to plead for the rapper to get him to the hospital, though BTB Savage wasn’t moved.
Finner informed local Houston news station ABC 13 that the fatal incident occurred around 6:10 p.m. in the 2100 block of Mid Lane. The victim, who has yet to be identified publicly, was described as a Black man in his twenties. Although the shooting is still under investigation, police believe it was a targeted hit based on the number of bullet casings found at the scene. Authorities added that the area is not known for crime, pointing out that only one murder had been reported in the last 12 months.
Online, many concluded that the victim was the aspiring artist. “BTB Savage shot and killed hours after posting a picture standing in the blood of the man he killed [two] months ago,” No Jumper tweeted.
“Jesus Christ,” one user said in response to their post. Others believed friends of the young rapper’s alleged victim are the ones who carried out last night’s hit to get payback for yesterday’s social media post. “The speed in which they killed BTB Savage has to be a world record,” an account wrote. Another added, “Seeing [people’s] last tweets be crazy. Bro was literally just laughing a few moments ago. Life [is] short as hell.”
