Wiz Khalifa will play funk legend George Clinton in the upcoming documentary Spinning Gold, a highly anticipated biopic which tells the story of Neil Bogart, the Casablanca Records Founder who signed Clinton and several other stars in the 1970s. The film is being written and directed by Bogart’s son, Timothy Scott Bogart.
According to Deadline; Wiz Khalifa will star as the Parliament-Funkadelic frontman, while actress Tayla Parx has been tapped to play Donna Summer; Ledisi will portray Gladys Knight and Lyndsy Fonseca will play music manager Joyce Biawitz. Jason Derulo will also be featured as Ron Isley of The Isley Brothers and Jay Pharoah, Pink Sweat$, Michelle Monaghan and Jason Isaacs are also cast members. Bogart will be played by Jeremy Jordan.
