A while ago. We told you about reggae dancehall Grammy Award winner, Buju Banton and his “Long Walk to Freedom” tour. Last weekend he was in Barbados performing at the Kensington oval before a sold-out crowd. It was truly remarkable and celebrities were on hand to watch the legend. Among these celebrities were Rihanna and the prime minister of Barbados. Mia Mottley.
Rihanna didn’t perform on the night but the likes of Wayne Wonder, Agent Sasco, Buggy Nhakente, and Spragga Benz helped spice up Banton’s performances. The tour train which kicked off in Jamaica has already hit Trinidad & Tobago and Bahamas. It is expected to hit other countries in the Caribbean region before mid-year.
The reggae-singer was incarcerated in a US correctional facility for 1 out of 10 years for cocaine trafficking. Despite the long hiatus, he still has so many loyal followers, a fact which is evident everywhere he performs.
