If you are an ardent follower of gymnastics then you should have heard of Simone Biles at some point. She is currently the most decorated female gymnast in the world which is no mean feat, if you agree with me. Last Saturday the champion continued her amazing winning streak, breaking a record to become the only American to win a medal in every event at the world championships.
Simone Biles set a new record as the most decorated female gymnast to walk the sands of time as she won four gold medals, a silver medal and a bronze medal all in one week. Amazing!!!
USA Today reported that the amazing gymnast had the best meet of her life on Saturday. She just became the first woman in the last 30 years to win a medal at every event at the Olympics or the World Championships.
After the meet Simone Biles said, “I’m really pleased with my performances, Yes, I wish some of them could have gone better. I’m most proud that I’m here, made all of the event finals, medaled in all of the events, and I survived.”
Biles is not a stranger to setting new records, she also holds the record for most career titles won by a gymnast. After the 2016 Olympics which held in Brazil the gymnast took some time off. She was part of the gold-winning team which represented the United States nicknamed “Final Five.”
The question that begs to be answered is, “how long will we wait for her record to be broken, another 30 years, or longer?”
