The Mavin’s Queen, Tiwa Savage, has been snapped up in a huge juicy deal by the Universal Music Group. This deal sees her exit the Mavin Group led by CEO, Don Jazzy, as her music will now be released in over 60 countries worldwide.
Her new deal will see her projects executively produced by Vannessa Amadi-Ogbonna and Efe Ogbeni of Regime Music Societe.
Tiwa’s former Mavin Records had received a huge investment from Kupanda Holdings rolling into millions of dollars earlier in the year. The CEO of the Mavin Group shared an emotional message on his Instagram page saying how proud he was of their achievements together and their musical journey as a whole. He went ahead to wish her well in her new journey and said he was optimistic the world will be grateful for the gift of Tiwa.
Last year, Savage made history as the first woman to win the MTV European Music Awards Best African Act category. In 2018 she also became the first female to sell out Indigo O2 in London, then performed at the Global Citizen Festival in Johannesburg, having been picked by Coldplay’s lead vocal, Chris Martin. She has performed on several stages along with some of the biggest artists in the world today.
Tiwa Savage is not just a music sensation, she was named on the list of Top 100 Inspirational Women in World Fashion by Vogue US. She was later featured in the December edition of British Vogue as one of the top 10 women changing the face of music worldwide.
