Tyrese Gibson was ordered to pay approximately $650,000 in child support and attorney fees during a custody hearing.
According to reports , Tyrese appeared in Fulton County court on Tuesday, and a judge ordered him to pay $237,944 to his ex-wife Samantha Lee Gibson, as well as $399,000 to Samantha’s attorney.
Tyrese Gibson refused to pay his ex $10,000 per month in August, calling the figure “excessive.”
“He claims Samantha doesn’t need that much, because she makes good money on her own,” TMZ notes.
The Fast and Furious actor has also claimed that the judge was racist toward him.
Despite the judge’s decision, TMZ reports that Tyrese’s attorney Tanya Mitchell Graham plans to appeal the ruling and file a motion for a new trial. Graham also stated that Tyrese does not have to pay his ex-wife until May 15, though she believes the deadline could be pushed back further if she files the appeal. Tyrese owes Samantha $237,000 in child support plus interest.
He’ll also have to pay $17,000 for the special master’s services, which TMZ describes as “a referee, of sorts, appointed by the judge to handle minor disputes during the case.” If you count this as a separate fee, the total comes to just under $654,000. Tyrese is liable for $636,944 if it is included in the aforementioned sums.
