If per chance you are conversant with Nollywood or African movies then you must have heard the name Genevieve Nnaji at least once. Only recently the talented screen diva put out her new movie “Lion Heart.” It was an instant hit as the movie is the first African movie to be bought by Netflix.
Just a month after she announced the deal with Netflix she was out in the news again, this time with a juicier story. The Universal Talent Agency based in the United States just signed the star actress and now movie director. The Universal Talent Agency is arguably one of the biggest entertainment talent agencies in the world. Some stars signed to the agency include Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, DJ Khalid, and Lady Gaga. Genevieve just joined that prestigious list.
This news did not come as a surprise to many who have followed her career keenly. It is no mistake that she is the first voice to proclaim African movies for Africa by Africa. Some years back she was the first African actress to win the coveted award for best actress in a lead role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Asides this she has won several awards and nominated for several others during the period of her over two decade career on screen. She is known to be very selective when it comes to the kind of roles she takes or the movies she stars in. She has signed several endorsement deals in recent times with an array of companies and gets better with age like wine.
