Nigerian musical icon, 2face Idibia was honored with the “Special Recognition Award” at the AFRIMMA Awards. The event held on October 27, 2019 at Dallas, Texas, USA.
2face also known as 2Baba was given the award for his trailblazing role in the evolution and rise of Afrobeats in last 20 years.
The Nigerian born artist has definitely played a huge part in giving a global voice to Africa pop music. So far, he has garnered a lot of recognition on the local and international scene.
From hit records, international collaboration and sold out musical concerts to endorsements and humanitarian work, this icon shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.
After receiving his third Special Recognition Award, 2Face appreciated the organizers of AFRIMMA, Big A Entertainment, and his supporters. The Musical legend also emphasized the need for Afrobeats to gain wider popularity and more expressions especially on the international scene.
Big A Entertainment began the event on a wonderful note with the successful staging of 2Face Live in Dallas Concert in November, 2009. The CEO of the entertainment company, Anderson Obiagwu commented on the musician’s success and his powerful role in AFRIMMA.
“We owe a lot of his star power, professional conduct and friendly disposition. But for him, we may have not been able to find the desire and commitment to continue in this path. We are always proud to be associated with his brand and person”, said Obiagwu.
