It is the third year since the current Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, was chosen ahead of many others to sit as the paramount ruler of the Yoruba nation. Ife is the ancestral home of the Yorubas and anyone chosen as the Ooni of Ife becomes the leader of the Yoruba race.
On October 26, 2015, Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi was selected out of the many heirs to the great Ife throne to become of the next Ooni after the demise of the previous monarch a few months earlier. He was however presented his staff of office on December 7 of the same year.
The records of his impeccable performance since ascending the throne of his fathers are limpid, he has indeed not let down his many subjects scattered all over the world. He has invested his time in developing several sectors such as agriculture, poverty alleviation for widows, cultural tourism, improving infrastructure, providing scholarships, ensuring unity among Yorubas as well as with other tribes, and lots more.
He is indeed an indefatigable leader, one whose steps are worthy of emulation and thus felicitations have been sent from all over the world marking the third anniversary of the Ooni of Ife on the Ancestral throne.
We join the Yoruba council all over the world to wish Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi many more prosperous years on the ancestral throne in peace and fruitfulness.
